Get ready for frightfully good fun this October half-term with Ghoulrider – your discounted group ticket for unlimited spooky travels around Nottingham and beyond!

Between Saturday 18th October until Sunday 2nd November 2025 inclusive, the price will be:

  • Grouprider: £6 all day, every day for unlimited travel in the City Zone
  • Network Grouprider: £9 all day, every day for unlimited travel across all NCT services in the City Zone and Outer Zone, including Loughborough, East Leake, Cotgrave, Cropwell, Burton Joyce, Lambley, Woodborough, Calverton and Southwell

There are no discount codes or vouchers needed to pay the lower price during the promotional period (Saturday 18th October – Sunday 2nd November 2025) – just ask the driver or buy in the NCTX Buses App.

These reductions are thanks to the Nottinghamshire and Greater Nottingham Bus Service Improvement Plans (BSIPs), where bus operators across the county and city are offering up to a third off group tickets over the October half-term period.

Spooky Fun Around Nottingham This Half-Term

Make the most of your Ghoulrider travel with these frightfully fun family events, organised by It’s in Nottingham, happening across the city:

  • Monsters on the Roof – Spot the rooftop monsters taking over high street shops from Saturday 25 October – Sunday 2 November 2025. Pick up a map from Nottingham Tourism Centre to find them all.
  • Monster Bus: Spooky Safari – Join the spooky city tour on 30–31 October and 1 November, morning and afternoon slots. Dress up and hunt for rooftop monsters along the route.
  • Monster Mash at Nottingham Castle – Friday 31 October, 10am–5pm. Enjoy music, dancing, crafts, face painting, spooky games and tasty treats. Tickets: £2 adults, £1 under 15s. Entry in time slots: 10am, 12pm, 2pm.
  • Strolling Bones Parade – Part of Monster Mash at Nottingham Castle. Catch the dancing skeleton puppets at 11am, 1pm, or 3pm on 31 October, included in Castle entry.

What is Grouprider?

Grouprider offers unlimited travel for families and couples travelling together at prices cheaper than buying individual day tickets.

Grouprider covers up to 5 people, where there has to be at least 1 adult (aged 19 or over) and no more than two adults. A Grouprider can be used by 2 adults travelling together without any children too. 

How do I buy a Grouprider?

You can buy a Grouprider:

  • On the NCTX Buses App - tickets purchased during the promotional period must be used by 2nd November 2025 and will not work after this date. No refunds will be available on unused tickets after 2nd November 2025.
  • With your contactless card or device on the bus. When you board, let the driver know you are paying with contactless and present your card/device to the reader when prompted.
  • With cash on the bus (exact fare)
