Tour of Britain

Stage Five of the Tour of Britain cycle race will be passing through Nottinghamshire on Thursday 8th September 2022. 

We expect delays to services between approx. 10:30 and 13:30 whilst there are rolling road closures for the cycle race. In most cases, there are no suitable diversions available and our buses will wait at the road closure until the road re-opens. We will then adjust buses back to their schedule. The times shown are based on those provided by the Tour of Britain and roads could close earlier than stated.

Here's which services will be affected and how:

Navy 1 and 3

At approx. 10:45, buses will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along Loughborough Road near County Hall and down Wilford Lane.

At approx. 11:00, Navy 3 will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along Wilford Road and through Ruddington.

Green Line 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 

From start of service until approx. 15:00, these buses will be unable to serve Bridgford Road or Central Avenue Shops. The nearest alternative stops will be at County Hall or use the diverted 6 and 7 on Rectory Road. 

Buses towards West Bridgford will follow their normal route over Trent Bridge then continue along Loughborough Road, left Melton Road to the junction with Rectory Road and:

  • Green 5 will continue along Melton Road to Gamston
  • Green 6 will turn left along Rectory Road to West Bridgford Centre then right Gordon Road to Edwalton
  • Green 7 will turn left along Rectory Road to West Bridgford Centre then continue Davies Road to Abbey Park and Gamston
  • Green 8 and 9 will turn right onto Musters Road and continue to Wilford Hill

Buses towards City:

  • Green 5 will follow its normal route along Melton Road to the Rectory Road junction, then continue Melton Road, right Loughborough Road, passing County Hall to resume normal route from Trent Bridge
  • Green 6 and 7 will follow their normal route to Tudor Square / West Bridgford Centre then left Rectory Road, right Melton Road, right Loughborough Road, passing County Hall to resume normal route from Trent Bridge
  • Green 8 and 9 will follow their normal route along Musters Road to the Rectory Road junction, then left Melton Road, right Loughborough Road, passing County Hall to resume normal route from Trent Bridge

At approx. 10:45, buses will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along Loughborough Road near County Hall.

At approx. 11:00, Green 8 and 9 will also be held whilst the cycle race proceeds through Compton Acres.

Green 10

At approx. 10:45, buses will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along Loughborough Road near County Hall and down Wilford Lane.

At approx. 11:00, buses will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along Wilford Road and through Ruddington.

Green 11

At approx. 10:45, buses will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along Loughborough Road near County Hall.

Pathfinder 26

At approx. 12:00, buses will be held whilst the cycle race proceeds along the A6097 at Lowdham.

Sky Blue 46, 47 

The following journeys will be cancelled to allow the race to pass through Mapperley Plains, Lambley and Woodborough:

  • From City: 12:15 (47) and 12:45 (46)
  • From Lambley: 12:39 (47)
  • From Woodborough: 13:12 (46)
