Travelling with NCT from 19th July
As England enters Stage 4 of the government’s roadmap to easing restrictions, NCT customers can be reassured that travelling by public transport is safe if they continue to follow government guidance.
NCT recommends that customers continue to wear face coverings on board, and will display signage on buses to encourage customers to wear one when travelling.
In line with government guidance, those who are exempt from wearing a face covering and who choose not to wear one will be able to travel and all customers are asked to respect each other’s individual choices.
On board, the enhanced cleaning of touch points will continue, as will the availability of hand sanitiser on every bus for customers to use as they board and alight.
Windows will continue to be kept open for ventilation, which with the frequent opening of doors, ensures a regular flow of fresh air through the bus.
Some seats, such as those nearest the doors and rearward facing, will remain closed.
With night clubs reopening as part of Stage 4, NCT’s NightBus services will resume from week commencing 19th July after being suspended for the last 15 months.
David Astill, NCT Managing Director said, “We thank all of our employees and customers for their support and for following the government guidance over the last 15 months. We encourage and recommend customers continue to wear face covering on the bus, make use of the on-board hand sanitiser when they get on and off and keep windows open for ventilation. Importantly everyone should show consideration towards other passenger’s personal choices as we take the cautious step towards normality”.
Chair of the NCT Board, Cllr Graham Chapman added "Nottingham City buses are safe for all passengers. To date the Nottingham public has complied very well with mask wearing on buses and we are grateful for all their cooperation. However, now that mask wearing has become voluntary, we continue to urge people to wear masks for the sake of not only of themselves but also of other fellow passengers".
